The Master's degree in Applied Telecommunications and Engineering Management (MASTEAM) organizes a weekly series of activities (talks, technical visits, discussion pannels) that complement the academic activities with real-world experiences from companies, research centres and institutions in the main topics of the master: Internet of Things, Smart Cities, 5G mobile communications, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Radio (SDR), cloud computing, augmented reality and audiovisual services, among others.

Abstract: The Consumer Goods industry is looking for the perfect recipe for success, leveraging a constellation of technologies where the Internet of Things (IoT) is a cornerstone.
As the future unfolds, the digital transformation journey ahead promises new business models sustained by technologies that help closing the gap between brands and consumers, enabling new ways of interacting and enriching the consumer's experience.
In this talk we'll explore some of the keys when building a future-proof IoT Architecture and the value propositions this technology layer enables.
Bio: Víctor N. García is a BSc. Telematics Engineer (EETAC, UPC), M.Sc. Telecommunications Engineer (EETAC, UPC) and Master in Mobile Business (UPC) with over 12 years of experience in IS/IT & Digital. He is currently contributing to develop Nestlé's Digital Presence as Global IoT Solution Delivery Manager. Along his career, held several technical and management positions as CTO, Innovation PM and IT Consultant for companies and startups on the IP Communications, Connected Devices and Cloud Services areas.
